3 Easy Accessable Golden Eagle Feathers Gauntlet Dark Legacy

Walkthrough: Castle

Castle I

Courtyard

Proceed until you reach the hedgemaze with the octopus in the pool. The red Death near the locked gate can be avoided or you may use an Anti-Death Halo to reverse drain it. Potions may be useful since the Magic will not only drive off Death (even in statue form) but destroy/damage the monsters and generators in range.

The hint scroll: "Go forward, then return and be rewarded", refers to the switch that will reveal a Gold bodypart (Feather) up for the taking should players backtrack. You will need to stay in the worlds in the West Wing to acquire Golden Feathers for the East Wing. The Mountain and Province worlds will only have Golden Fangs.

The exit is up in the ramparts. Don't know what ramparts are? Look it up. A Warlord will guard the stairs to the ramparts. At the base of those stairs, there is a side path that has two barrels. Under the green barrel is a switch that lowers the barrier to the flaming pitch shot. Don't know what pitch shot is? Look it up. There is a secret wall on the flaming pitch shot holding something on multi-player, but not on single player.

Up on the ramparts, the corner parapets are home to switches, treasures, and Golems that will lead to the exit. Don't know what's a corner parapet? Take Medieval Architecture and I'll see you when the semester is over.

There is a secret wall past the exit with some fruit.

Castle II

Dungeon (Secret Maze, Falconess)

There must be a reason why they put the secret maze for the Falconess in the Dungeon . . . of Torment. What this has to say about Midway's company activities I'm not so sure. There are two instances of back-tracking involved; one for treasure, one for health.

There are secret walls along the edges of the stage, so use maximum Turbo attacks to reveal what you are too lazy to find. One of the first secret walls involve the first case of back-tracking. The hint scroll: "The Gargoyle (Dragon) guards much treasure" has nothing to do with the back-tracking.

A Dragon loiters over the secret maze. Make sure to kill it when it is not over the maze, or the Golden part will be on the maze entrance. That means you won't be able to get it before the maze teleports you away. The hint scroll found shortly after: "Go back and be rewarded by a dead man" has a switch nearby that will allow access to some treasure near that secret wall mentioned previously.

At the top of the stairs to the exit is a switch. You should go there, really you should. A secret wall next to the crystal platform will lower a large health item. Back-track and you shall find it.

Castle III

Barracks (Legendary Weapon, Ice Axe -- The Dragon)

Start by realizing you can use the bridges to impede monster progress. There is a red Death (no Halo available) near where you begin, so watch what you hit. Be ready to use a potion. In the vicinity of the mess hall, there is a secret wall on top of the stairs where the camera goes almost horizontal. It should reveal a switch and a Gold bodypart (and a missileer; kill it).

Near the hint scroll that says: "Death awaits for you in the shower", is a locked door leading to a switch that will access the Gold bodypart and switch. Backtrack to the Gold bodypart. The Gold bodypart switch will lower the bridge and allow access to the Legendary Weapon. The Legendary Weapon is hidden by a not so subtle secret wall.

From there on out, battle a Dragon, some Warlords, and a Golem to reach the exit. The furnace that you pass while heading to the exit has a secret wall on top of the fire accessible by elevators on either side of the cook fire. The exit will require a switch to be thrown.

Castle IV

Armory (Runestone #4)

Adventure until you reach the forges with the bloody meat-hooks. The level is labyrinthine, and does require you to pay attention to alternate routes as not to waste keys. Turbo attacks and even regular attacks against Warlords will work due to the thinness of the walls in this stage.

A little past the forge area, you will come across the "co-op intersection" which will require players to stand on the switch while buddies hold the square of floor to keep it from disappearing. On one player, you will need to detour around this area without using keys. On one player, there is a Golem in a quarantine area past the co-op intersection. The quarantine area has a switch that will access the Runestone.

To access the Golem quarantine area, you will need to use a key to access a corridor brimming with enemies. Remember why I said grab/kill/smash everything? This is why. Where monsters live, you will go and make them die. Then explore after. The series of switches will lead to the Runestone being uncovered, live on the EEEEEE!ntertainment Channel.

Castle V

Treasury

This level supposedly has lots of money, but not really. It'll take you longer to navigate this stage than it will be for you to cack Bosses repeatedly for money. Work your way to the throne and get the hint scroll: "You'll be richer if you use the teleporters first." Follow the advice and work your way away from the Treasure Room and towards the exit. The teleporters will be linked to one another, but are no longer random. Lucky you. The switches in the vicinity of the teleporters will access the various hidden treasure in the Treasure Room. Once you can make a beeline for the exit, you only need to back-track to the Treasure Room, pickup the invulnerability in the middle of the room (one player only) and loot 'till you drop.

Castle VI

Chimera (Boss)
Castle Stronghold: Chimera
Weapon - Scimitar of Decapitation (Forest IV, Branches)
Payoff - $7000
Minimum Player Level - 50

The Chimera was Boss Numero-Two-O in Gauntlet Legends. It used to be one hard Boss due to its triple firepower, three (read 'em three ) lifebars against your single puny health ticker. Now, with the strafe ability, this Boss sucks and gives change. The shots from all three heads can be easily avoided by strafing, and since you are constantly firing back, this Boss dies pretty much without smarting players too badly. While the heads are difficult to hit, veteran players will know to hit the Boss' wings to cause damage (except to the Lion head in the center). The only true threat this Boss can muster is the "Super Chimera Triple Head Doom Strike Breath Attack" that got canceled from Power-Rangers-Whatever-the-Hell-They-Are-Now and dumped into this game. Although damaging, the attack is denied use to the Boss should any one of the heads be destroyed. Later on, battle this boss repeatedly to acquire money without much trouble or side-questing for the legendary weapon.

The Legendary Weapon will take care of that by destroying the Lion head instantly, effectively capping the Boss' health by a third. The recommended level for this Boss is between 40 and 50.
